He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Alfred, Marie Miller and Selma Schroeter; his sister Amy Schroeter; and his pet Mudguts.

He is survived by: his parents, Delmar Schroeter and Nancy Schroeter of Silver Creek; his wife Patricia Horne; his stepsons, Deryck Slatter (Brittany), Duane Slatter and Dustin Slatter; his grandson Hayden Slatter; his brothers, Rodney Schroeter (Kathryn), Neal Schroeter (LeaAnn) and Kevin Schroeter; his nieces, Lara Schroeter, Elsa Haeberle (Jonas), Britta Clark (Josh), Anna Schroeter and Alahznee Schroeter; his great-nieces, Frieda and Vivian Haeberle; his great-nephew Felix Haeberle; and his pet Albert Einstein.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Silver Creek Fire Department or New Life Church.
