He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Schauer and Martha Schauer (Hannie); and his siblings, Frances Gosse, Donald Schauer and Ruth Bunkelman.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Zahorka; his children, Joel Schauer of Abbotsford, Kimberly, Daniel and Karen Petanitis (Lampros) of Eau Claire; his grandchildren, Lia, Andreas, Athena and Niko; his daughter Betty Baumgartner (Ray) of Athens; his granddaughter Ann Thurs (Andy); his great grandchild Evan; his granddaughter Jessica Kelley (Nick); his great grandchildren, William and Callum; his grandchild Gena Heeg (Chad); his great grandchildren, Trey and Levi; his grandson Brian Schauer (Daniella) of Dorchester; his great grandchildren, Brett and Brendan; and his sister-in-law Loretta Martin of Watertown. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
