He was predeceased by : his parents, Miguel Esquivel and Lillian Esquivel (Velasquez); his son Michael Franklin Esquivel; and his siblings, Delores Abarca (Esquivel), Juanice Esquivel, Edward, Anthony, Richard, Rudolph and Robin.

He is survived by : his wife Janet Rhoads; his brother Alfred'Cruz'; his stepdaughter Sandra Pyper (Sleem); and his children, Michelle Baughman (Esquivel), Linda Olvera (Esquivel), Christina Zaragoza (Esquivel), Maria Cuevas (Esquivel), Richard Esquivel, Julian Esquivel, Juan Marcos Esquivel and Carlos Esquivel. He is also survived by many grandchildren (22) and great grandchildren (25) and numerous nieces and nephews.
