She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, A. H. "Mike" Settlemyer, Jr. and June E. Settlemyer (Cooper); her children, Douglas (Minda) of Ellensburg, Michael of Washington, D. C. and Keira of Yakima; her husband L. Daniel Fessler; her granddaughters, Henriettra Grace Fessler and Berndette Rose Fessler of Ellensburg; her sister Ellen Bartelli of Yakima; and her friends, Julie Barker of Yakima, Toni Houghton of Olympia and Wendy Guske of Yakima.
The family requests that any remembrances honoring Vana be donated to one of her favorite charities, the "Flock of Chickens" program for women at Heifer International.
