He is survived by: his wife Celine Bates; his children, Deb Dougan (Jim) of Yakima, Ted Bates (Dee) of Selah and Jerry of Wisconsin; and his stepson Kent Patnode (Carolyn) of Yakima. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
