He is survived by: his wife Virginia Morris; his children, Robert Dampier (Cari), Stacy Alan Heether (Katie Elkon), J. D., Jaime O'Conner (Tim) and Chris Sumerlin; and his brothers, Robert Heether and Todd Heether (Nancy).
