He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Sylvester and Lois Elaine Sizer (Fuerst); his grandparents, George Wales, Rebecca Sizer (Waldbauer), Joseph Fuerst and Wilhelmina Fuerst (Kortemeier); his uncles, Mel (Vera Sizer), Laurence (Kathryn Sizer) and Leonard (Roxine Fuerst); his aunt Doris Fuerst; his parents-in-law, A. Edward and Vivian J. Weddle; his brother John Cardenas; and his cousin Jim White.
He is survived by: his great-aunt Clara Kortemeier; his children, Colleen (Matthew Christenson), Stephanie (Corey Harbott), Gregory and Anthony; his grandson Bill Cowl; his sons, Boy Scout Troop, Grandview and Chairman; his wife Kathy; his brother Bruce; his nephew Simon; his son Greg (Meranda); his grandchildren, Noah Dean Sizer of Florida, Claire and John of Cowiche; his great grandchild Isabella Sizer of Tucson; his grandchildren, Audrey, Thor and Madeline of Crookston, Minnesota; his great grandchild William Cowl; his granddaughters, Meghan and Macey of Haverill, Massachusetts; his brother-in-law Jerry Weddle (Charlene); his nephews, Joel Krause and Nick Krause (Katie); his sister-in-law Demaris Garceau; his niece Melody Marlow (Ben); his cousins, Kenneth Fuerst (Cynthia), Phyllis Lutz, Carol Reed (Dennis), Earl Sizer (Sharon), Rosemary, Darlene, Sharon, Laura and Donald Sizer; his adoptive parents, Bob Tan and Anita Tan; his daughter Atina Tan (Cedric Silas); his sister Susan White; his nieces and nephews, Jamie and Anna; his great-niece Elizabeth; his nephew Joe Cardenas (Lola); his children, Elianna, Joey (Nora Cardenas) and Selena; and his cousins, Tim, Mark Davidson, Jeff, Judy Simerl, Rebecca Aiger, Dan, Judy White, Paul and Debbie Lindblad.
The family is requesting you wear masks to keep our living loved ones safe. Covid-19 was such a worry for Dean while he was on dialysis.
Memorial donations can be made to Sunnyside Grace Brethren Church designated "missionaries Elvis and Sulee Tangko" or "The Kidney Project," UCSF's project to come up with an artificial kidney for end stage renal failure.
