Though Betty may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Simon Harkema and Myrtle Harkema; her sister Barbara VanWechel; her stepmother Marie Helm (Harkema); and her stepbrother Tom Helm.
She is survived by: her husband Arty; and her daughters, Charlene, Elaine and Shirley. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Keith & Keith Funeral Home (902 W Yakima Ave, Yakima, WA 98902). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Terrace Heights Memorial Park (3001 Terrace Heights Dr, Yakima, WA 98901).
