Leona Alicia left this world on December 9, 2024 at the age of 90, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. Though Leona Alicia may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Leona Alicia touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dominic Showaway and Louise Showaway (Billy); and her siblings, Martha Showaway, Willard Showaway, James Showaway and Elizabeth Hart (Showaway).
She is survived by: her children, Sandra Umtuch, William Smartlowit, Glenn Smartlowit, Sr. and Marguarite Becenti. She is also survived by nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 7:00 PM. A graveside service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 8:00 AM at the Toppenish Creek Cemetery.
