He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Simmons and John Simmons; his brother David Simmons; and his daughter Janine Walker (Mark). He is survived by: his wife Ruth Simmons (Roof); his daughters, Christine Martin (Michael) of Whitefish Bay and Jennifer Schenker (Kimberly Henshaw) of Victor; his grandsons, Evan and Josh Schenker; his daughters, Caroline Stipkovich (Matthew), Madeline, Julia and Jenna Walker; and his sister-in-law Donna Bates (Gary) of Wenatchee, Washington. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed's name to the Wenatchee School District Music Department (WSD District Office 235 Sunset Ave, Wenatchee, WA 98801) to provide instrument access for all. Donations may also be made to the Packing Friendship Program at Grace Lutheran Church, a backpack food program for children (earmarked "Packing Friendship" in the note line).
