He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Earl and Faye Winward Smith; his brothers, Victor and Michael; his son Randy; and his grandson Brandon.
He is survived by: his stepdaughter Deb Ellis; his children, Diane Morrison (David), Debra Lacy (Steve), Bryan Smith (Cori), Shauna Yuill (Roy), Boyd Smith (Reveau), Blaine Smith (Jacqui) and Bruce Hosfeld; his former wife Sharon Smith; and his stepchildren, Mark Ellis (Loni) and Debra Harris (Wayne).
