It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dolores Blackwood of Walla Walla, Washington, born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who passed away on May 25, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Cherry and Opal Cherry; her son Steve; and her husband Glenn. She is survived by: her children, Beth Blackwood (Theo Palmer) and Tim Blackwood of Portland, OR; her grandchildren, Michael Blackwood of Staunton, VA and Kali Palmer; her brother-in-law Jim Blackwood of Lebanon, OR; and also Jane Frye of Paradise, CA. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

When Glenn finally "retired" from being a "go-to" handy man in 2019, he and Dee moved to the Quail Run Retirement Community in Walla Walla, a Providential move due to the impending pandemic.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in Dee's memory.

“To the family of Dolores Blackwood, I remember Dolores "Dee" as a very kind, sweet and caring woman. She would always ask how I'm doing and listen. I was one of the housekeepers at Quail Run Retirement Community. Both Glenn and Dolores were always a pleasure to visit with while getting their apartment cleaned. Dolores had a bright beautiful smile each time I saw her. She often spoke very well of her family. The grandkids were definitely lucky to have such a grandma. Sincerely, Anna Filatov”
