Mary Beth (Johnson) Davis Obituary
Beth (Johnson) Davis
She came into this world on May 13, 1957. She defied the odds of being a preemie and grew to be an amazing, sweet, beautiful person who cared about everyone. Her parents were Rodger “Red” Johnson and Irene (Skjei) Johnson. They named their first-born Mary Beth. In 8th grade she decided she wanted to be called “Beth”, which to this day has been a struggle for family to not call her Mary Beth. She attended Portsmouth Elementary and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1975. While in high school she was the Sophomore secretary, involved in Rally and was a 1975 Rose Festival Princess candidate. During high school she worked at KFC where she couldn’t stand the “grease”, from there she worked for Skookum in the Engineering department making copies of blueprints and filing. After high school she started her life long career with Freightliner working in procurement. She took a short break and moved to Texas and even Alaska where she worked as a cook on a fishing vessel. She returned to Freightliner/Daimler and retired in 2019. She married Mitchell Davis in 1995 and had 2 beautiful daughters Anna and Leah who she adored. They later divorced. In 2002, Beth met Kenneth Bedel and they spent 19 years together. Beth was so excited to become a Grandmother in July to a baby boy and now she’ll be his angel from above.
Through all of life’s many journey’s, Beth had several childhood friends that she kept close to her. We know Beth’s life was spent in good company amongst friends and family. She loved going to the beach and spending time in Wallowa, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her parents Red & Irene Johnson. Her sister Cheryl Rae Martin. She’s survived by her daughters Anna M. Davis (fiancé Zane) and Leah I. Heck (Wes). Her partner Ken Bedel and his daughter Kalyn (Jeff), her loving brother Dan Johnson (Teresa) and a distant brother Ron Swanson. Uncle, Lynn T. Skjei and loving family members from the Skjei, Philpott, Newark, Jendritza/Dusa and Johnson families and numerous friends.
Undoubtedly, everyone who knew her could count on her love and support at any time. Although she is gone, she is not forgotten. She died peacefully at home on April 20, 2021 of unknown natural causes.
