He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Ames and Pauline Ames; his wife Dolores; his granddaughter June Ames; his siblings, Ed, Marg and Thelma; and his close friend Nita Onn.
He is survived by: his close friends, Jim Frost and Fred Moe; his children, Diane Elwin (John) and Robert Ames; and his grandchildren, Douglas Ames (Cherie), Tracee, Tami Elwin, Nick Ames, Torry Iyall, Alex and Susie Ames.
The family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's and Dementia Association https://www.alz.org in lieu of flowers.
