It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Ellen Mertens (Tumwater, Washington), who passed away on March 29, 2024, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Wallace Vaught and Doris Vaught; her husband Terry Mertens; her daughter Kathryn Banning; her son-in-law Zach; her grandsons, Jack and Bennett; her daughter Nicole Dunn; her son-in-law Derrick; her granddaughter Mia; and her siblings, Patty Smith, Sandi Balcerak, Dan Vaught and Theresa Benzel.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society and/or Brigadoon Service Dogs in Bellingham, WA, would be greatly appreciated.
