He was predeceased by: his wife Judy; his parents, James P. Hussey and Florence E. Hussey (Boland); his siblings, James, Thomas and Joanne Hardy (Hussey); his niece Maureen Mims (Hussey); and his granddaughter Eden Keller.
He is survived by: his daughters, Megan Matthew (Scott), Erin Keller (Steve) and Kellyann Hussey; his grandchildren, Nathan, Duncan, Gordon, Emelia (Jacob Smith), Griffin, Fiona (Carlos Ceja), Mary Frances (Thomas Rumpza), Henry, Lillian and Peter; his great grandchildren, Eloísa, Tatiana, Pia and Daniel; and his sister Patricia Hussey. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, honoring Gene's lifelong commitment to helping others.
