He was predeceased by: his son Norman Hammer Jr.; his parents, Alf Hammer and Albina Hammer; and his sisters, Aldene Nash (Warren) and Betty Bishop (Paul).

He is survived by: his wife JoAnne Ericsson; his children, Deborah Peterson (Vic) and Greg Hammer (Cathy); his grandchildren, Brent Hammer (Brittany), Clara Hammer, Cole Peterson, Theresa Armstrong (David) and Tiffany Mosher (Kyle); and his great grandchildren, Mason, Madison, Brady, Matthew, Makayla, Kade and Kollins.
