Mary Jean Knowles Obituary
Mary Jean Knowles (Telfer) was born in Boston, Massachusetts on July 18, 1928. She attended and graduated school to become a teacher. Mary Jean taught in Vacaville at Padan School for many years. While residing in Vacaville for more than 40 years. She would go on to volunteer at St. Paul's, the library, and many other places she felt called to serve. She moved to Washington State in 2017.
Mary Jean was a voracious reader, she loved puzzles, puzzle books, crochet, women's rights, civil rights, and inclusion. Though many wonderful words could describe her, GGMa was top of the list.
Mary Jean was preceded in death by her parents, an older brother, and her son Jonathan Paul. She is survived by her brother Gordon, children Mark, Janet, Luke, Timothy, Peter, and Matthew, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Though Mary Jean has departed this earthly realm, their legacy endures — a legacy of love, learning, and curiosity that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
The inurnment will be held on Thursday, July 18th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery (522 Elmira Road, Vacaville, California 95687).
