He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Desmond and Frances Desmond; and his children, Kathleen Littfin (Stephen), Judy Little (Karl), Janet Martin (Mike), Mike Desmond, Pam Michels (John), Mary West (Steve) and Sharon Shaw (Tim). He was also cherished by children are scattered around the country, they set out each fall and spring making circuitous routes around the US to visit them and their 32 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.
