He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dave Boggs and LaVonne Boggs; his son Timothy; his wife Kathy Boggs; his daughter Mindy Boggs; and his siblings, Laura (James Hammond), Deanna Bren of Potlatch and Dave (Sharon Boggs). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
Vern and Kathy were inducted into the Spokane Area Square Dance Hall of Fame in 2006 and were presented with the prestigious Almon F. Parker Award for their contributions to square and round dancing in the state of Washington.
