He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Hardy Harding Sandvig and Helen Elizabeth "Betty" Sandvig; and his mother-in-law Suzanne Howard-Sandvig. He was also cherished by his five grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was held on Friday, June 28th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (4521 N Arden Rd, Otis Orchards, WA 99019). A committal service was held on Friday, June 28th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the St. Joseph Cemetery (17825 E Trent Ave, Spokane Valley, WA 99216).
