With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert Wayne Schmidt (Spokane, Washington), born in Cedar Falls, Iowa, who passed away on December 22, 2023 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilmar J Schmidt and Jeanne E Schmidt; his sister Kristi A Schafer; and his brothers-in-law, Robert Zetlmaier and Michael Wright.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Schmidt of Spokane, WA; his son Robert Schmidt of Anchorage, AK; his stepsons, Bill (Sarah) of Wenatchee and Nick Lyons of Spokane; and his siblings, Nancy Zetlmaier of Seattle, WA, Richard Schmidt (Lois) of O'Fallon, IL and Jeffrey Schmidt (Kimberly) of Cedar Falls, IA.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
Family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St Mark's Lutheran Church.
