It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Marie Mecham in Spokane, Washington, who passed away on July 29, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Rita Marie may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Rita Marie touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

“We met Rita when she and Bob were selling their house on 25th Av. She was so engaging, kind and funny. We did buy their home and spent many wonderful years their raising our boys. I ran into RIta now and again and we did visit RIta and Bob a few times at their home on Overbluff. RIta is an unforgettable person and we immediately connected. She was a terrific person, wife, and mom! We are sending our sympathy to her family. Debi and Dick Roccanova DDS”

“My family and I met Rita last year when we bought her family's boat. We named it the 'Rita Marie ". I loved the short visit my two young grandkids and I had with her. She was so sweet and so very kind to them. My Five year old grandson sang her a song and she was gracious enough to listen to the song and clap at the end. Sending my condolences to her family.
