He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilfred Sarkkinen and Doris Sarkkinen; his wife Rebecca Ellen Foley; his nephew Nathan Sarkkinen; and his niece Mindy Sarkkinen.

He is survived by: his daughters, Shana Stenberg (Adam), Amber Kehl (Nick) and Angela Fromm (Tanner); his grandchildren, Victoria, Jada, RaeLeigh, Sawyer, Kysa, Berlynn, Elna and Kinsley; and his siblings, Joe (Sharon), Dick (Nancy), Douglas (Helen), Robert, James (Brenda), Bonnie (Jeff Lipka) and William (Denise). He is also survived by his siblings and friends.
