He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Elmer and Sophia G. H. Leistico (Schackel); his stepmother Virginia Leistico (Chase); and his siblings, Dudley Crippen, Dale, Robert Leistico and Mary Efner.

He is survived by: his wife Millie Leistico; his son Sean Duane Leistico (Elaine); his grandchildren, Brandon (Natasha) and Kyrie; his great grandchildren, August and Mila; and his siblings, Carol Waggoner, Geraldine Pohlman, Marilyn Moe and Dewayne Leistico. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
