She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Hutchinson and Eva Hutchinson; her former husband Robert R. Wise; her husband Melvin C. Tarbert; her daughter Kathy English; and her siblings, Pearl Brown, Eula Cramer, Estella Toombs and Roy Hutchinson.

She is survived by: her sons, Doug Wise and Ted Wise. She is also survived by four grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

“Maudie Wise Tarbert was and always will be one of the finest people I have ever known. When I was young and spent time in her home she was often reading, doing chores, making meals, and best of all just talking and listening. I don't think there was ever a time where she didn't ask if I was hungry, how my family was doing, or just conversing. Maudie was so smart and she knew so many things it was always a pleasure talking and listening to her.”
