He was predeceased by: his uncles, Lucian Egrid and Gary Teears. He is survived by: his parents, Robert J. Teears and Magdalene A. Teears; his sister Laurel Teears; and his aunts, Elizabeth Horste (Mark) and Colleen Teears.

The life changes and isolation imposed by Covid restrictions seemed causative in his relapse and subsequent mental health crisis leading to his death.
