He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Smart Sr. and Betty Elaine Keller; and his brother Leon Smart. He is survived by: his child Gene; his wife Mikie; his children, Kelli Smart, Jill (Harry), Ward, Jenne Kissell (Jeremy), Christopher Smart (Candy), Carrie Dawson (Jade) and Matthew Smart (Annabelle); and his siblings, Jerry Smart (Jane), Randy Smart (Susan), Dean Smart (Mary) and Kathleen Braden (Marty). He is also survived by his family, friends.
