He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward John and Minnie Schuh (Laturno); his son Jay Edward Schuh (Wanda); his wife Dorothea Schuh (Warriner); and his siblings, William Schuh (Bill), Mabel Carter, Dorothy Bowen (Dot) and Inez McKinley.

He is survived by: his daughter Janet Elaine Burger (Robert); his daughter-in-law Wanda Holcomb (Ralph); his grandchildren, Betsy Rau, Gary Schuh, Bonnie Miya and Kelly Buckley; and his great grandchildren, Annemarie, Jack Rau, Megan Miya, Maggie and Abby Buckley. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
