She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Gilbert James and Doris Claire Swaner (Ray); her husband Lewis Eugene Vaughn, Sr.; her children, Thomas Eldon Prater, Theresa Lynn Williams, Deborah Elizabeth Parker, Marilyn Denise Lemis and Catherine Marie Mathis; and her siblings, Stephen Ray Swaner and Susan Marie Lawrence. She was also cherished by 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
