It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Daniel Eugene Derrick in Spokane, Washington, who passed away on June 27, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Derrick and Mary Derrick; his wife Leilani; and his brothers, Dwight and Wray.

He is survived by: his sister Carrol; his sons, Dale Derrick (Daylene), Darin (Tammi), Kirk Watson and Devyn (Joy); and his adoptive daughter Susanne. He is also survived by many grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers it is requested to donate to Shriner's Hospital.

“Dan was a great friend and spiritual mentor; the kind of man I'd like to be when I grow up. It was always a pleasure to drive him over to Astoria for his dialysis treatment because he had so many State Trooper stories to share. Marta & I especially liked to see his smile afterwards when we gave him a 12 ounce double mocha. He'll be sorely missed, but we have the consolation and promise of a grand meeting someday soon.
