He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosie Faye McGee Shempert and Calvin Shempert, Sr.; his daughter Macheala Telquist; his stepfather Kenny Jackson; and his siblings, Cecil, Calvin, Danny Joe Shempert, Wanda Ellis and Janice Langford.
He is survived by: his wife Marylin Williams Shempert of Spokane, WA; his granddaughter Peyton Telquist of Spokane; and his siblings, Clayton Shempert (Elizabeth) of Woodland, MS and Vanessa Bivins of Vardaman, MS..
