It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carole Joann Ries (Spokane, Washington), born in Sundance, Wyoming, who passed away on January 23, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph DesJarlais and Marguerite DesJarlais; and her brothers, Jean DesJarlais, James "Jerry" DesJarlais and Edmond "Ed" DesJarlais.

She is survived by: her husband Robert P. Ries; her sons, Christopher Warila (Cindy), Steven Ries (Michelle), Paul Ries (Melissa), Darrel Ries (Angela) and John Ries; and her siblings, Monica Schillinger (Dennis), Marilyn Ries (Jack), Patricia Robertson, Kathleen Herrmann, Michael DesJarlais, Lorelei Ries (Kenneth), Joseph DesJarlais, Renee DesJarlais, Jacqueline DesJarlais and Gregory DesJarlais. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
