He was predeceased by: his parents, John Nickels and Pauline Nickels (Pattock); his wife Mary M. Christianson; and his siblings, Bea, Tom, Art and John.
He is survived by: his children, Carrie Edwards (John), Rick Nickels, Tom Nickels, Sharon Slayter (Al), Kathy Melton (Joe), Mike Nickels (Aleitha) and John Nickels. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or the Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch in Billings, Montana.
