He was predeceased by: his parents, James Byrd Sr. and Joan Pell (Adams); his wife Laurie Byrd; his siblings, Autum Rioux, Sheryl Wingfield, Richie Giles and Sharon Byrd; his nephew Dustin Valderes; and his siblings-in-law, Mariah Janda and Terry Marks.
He is survived by: his children, Misty Byrd, Willow Byrd and James "Jimmy" Byrd III; his daughter-in-law April Byrd of Skokomish Nation; his grandchildren, Unique Byrd, Aya Byrd, James Byrd IV, Trinity Byrd, Kasiah Brown, Hailey Brown, Nathaniel Byrd, Taylen Powell and Kylind Powell; his great grandchildren, Raiden Stratton, Kaeo Stratton and Rhubyn Avila; his parents-in-law, Jack and Karen Janda; and his brother-in-law Jeremy Janda.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Skokomish Community Center (19731 US-101, Skokomish, WA 98584).
