He is survived by: his wife Debbie Chavez Leach; his sisters, Jean Ihlenfeld (Scott) and Milwaukee Jerri Greenberg (Robert); his brother-in-law Rob Rupnow of Kaneohe; his mother Janet Reinhardt; his sister Josie Dan Rupnow; and also Sequim. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

His parting gift was the donation of his corneas which gave sight to two women who are no longer blind.
