He is survived by: his former wife Rita Gamble; his wife Vivian Hoiland McKiernan; his sons, Mark (Laura) of Canby, OR, Matt (Rose) of Asotin, WA, Tim (Cheryl) of Bremerton, WA, David (Jeanne) of Port Angeles, WA and Daniel of McMinnville, OR; his sister Janice Kyhl (Alvin); his stepchildren, Elaine Saunders (John), Jeff Joaquin, Kelly Joaquin and Robyn Joaquin Patton (Jay); and his grandson Jeff. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
