He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Carswell and Julia Mae Hughes Carswell; and his siblings, Ed Willie Carswell, Joseph Carswell and Rosie Carswell.
He is survived by: his friend Lydia Lam; his siblings, Jimmy Carswell of Atlanta, Dock Carswell (Angela) of Swainsboro, Betty King and Mary; and his aunt Annie Kate Wadley of Swainsboro. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
