He was predeceased by: his wife Marianne Barnett; and his sister Suzanne Redding of Shoreline, WA.. He is survived by: his children, Glenda Wheeler of Longview, WA, Dr. John H. Barnett (Laurie) of Lawrence, KS and Stephen Barnett of Everett, WA; and his siblings, Slade Barnett (Marie) of Bothell, WA and Alice Dunavent of Moses Lake, WA. He is also survived by two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
