Dorothy Alberta Boe Obituary
Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home & CemeteryIn Loving Memory Beloved Aunt, Great Aunt, Great- Great Aunt Dorothy Alberta Boe was born in Mount Vernon Washington on September 1st 1929 to parents Albert E and Jennie L Boe (Larsen). She grew up in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood with her sister Jeanette where most of her Aunt's, Uncle's and Cousin's lived. It was a big Norwegian family that was very close growing up.
She graduated from Ballard High School in 1947 and Simpson Bible College (now Simpson University) in 1951 with a degree in Religious Education. She later attended the University of Washington and Seattle Pacific College (University) majoring Music and a minor in Art. She had a lifelong passion for playing the piano and organ. Dorothy also loved to sing, especially at church in the choir, or with small groups. She also used her music talents with her Sunday School Kids. For 67 years she would teach 4 & 5 year olds teaching them to sing children's songs and to Love Jesus.
Dorothy was also a very talented Artist using water colors or graphite pencil drawings. One of her watercolor paintings will be displayed at the Nordic Museum. The one thing that you could count on was that Dorothy would always have a joke or a cartoon to share with you. The jokes, a Boe tradition, were usually a little corny.
So in her short 94 years .... Dorothy was a daughter, a sister and an Aunt. Dorothy became a Missionary, a Good Employee, a Musician , a Teacher, an Artist and a Poet! Dorothy lived a full life.
Dorothy ALWAYS talked the talk and walked the walk when it came to her Love for Jesus. It was at the age of 9, Dorothy wrote when she entered into the "Presence of the Lord" and she stayed there for the rest of her life on this Earth. There was never any doubt that she would be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior. She is now in the Presence of her Lord Jesus Christ!
