He is survived by: his parents, Edmond Varela Jr. of Renton, WA and Tara Rodriguez of Tacoma, WA; his stepmother Jacki Varela; his siblings, Katie Varela and Brandon Varela; and his stepsiblings, Nisha and Dahnny Dolman.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to NAMI Pierce County.
