He is survived by: his wife Gail; his children, Paige Hickey (Carlos Hickey) and Galen Wahlstrom of Portland; his grandchildren, Tara Briggs (Travis Briggs), Justin L'Amie, Alex Hickey (Alyssa Bozikovich), Amber Wahlstrom and Jocelyn Wahlstrom; his great grandchild J. C. Briggs; and his sister Barbara Erickson (Gene Erickson) of Grand Marais, Minnesota. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
