He was predeceased by: his father Herb Traeger; and his grandfather A. C. Lassiter. He is survived by: his mother Verna K. Traeger; his cousin Carmen Forney (Michael); his children, Micah and Oreo; his brother Matthew Bishop (Shelley); his children, James, Rebecca and Khloe; and his close friend Jerry Turner. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends.
