He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Leroy and Margaret Ackerson (Sweet); his wife Dottie Maples; his former spouse Enza Jane; his children, Brenda Barnes (William), Connie Miller (Richard), Kathy Miller (Jeff), William Ackerson (Lori), Jesse Ackerson, Jr. (Christi), John Ackerson, Dawn Ackerson, Adam Ackerson (Tracy) and Corinna Hathaway; his stepfather Jess Sweet; his siblings, Mary Blagg, Robert Ackerson, Becky Folkes and Pat Ackerson; and his son Gary Ackerson. He was also cherished by 14 grandchildren & 6 great-grandchildren.
