He is survived by: his spouse Virginia Secrest; his daughters, Kasey Carl and Robin Schaffer; his grandson Justin Schaffer of Olympia; and his siblings, Barbara Hoop (Ken), Larry Carl (Charlene) and Mike Carl (Margaret). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
