He was predeceased by: his parents, Ida Mae Makepeace and Sylvester V. Makepeace; and his siblings, Donnie Makepeace, Sylvester V. Makepeace Jr., Estella Walter and Linda Choate.
He is survived by: his sister Kay Kleine; and his sons, Brent Makepeace (Dawn) and Alan Makepeace (Jessie). He is also survived by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
