She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard Bortvit and Doena Bortvit; her grandparents, Esther, Frank Alonzo, Bernard and Mabel Bortvit of Estherville Iowa; and her siblings-in-law, William C. (Claire) and Minnie Mapes.

She is survived by: her husband Michael Mapes; her brother Peter Bortvit (Connie); and her nieces, Kristen Stewart (Steven Stewart) and Kelsey Fitzgerald (Kyle Fitzgerald). She is also survived by 3 great nieces and 1 great nephew.
