He was predeceased by: his son Bryant Clark Hess; and his brother Louis Hess. He is survived by: his spouse Beverly Jones; his daughters, Krista Lynn Smith (Gilbert Smith) and Danielle Adelaide Hess (Michael Varnum); his granddaughters, Lindsay Rose Hess, Ashley Marie Ackerman, Haley Hess Varnum and Megan Hess Varnum; and his brothers, Peter Hess, Marshall Deutsch and Tom Hess. He is also survived by His parents divorced when he was seven years old, and he and his mother (Adelaide) and brothers (Louis and Peter) moved in with their Grandfather.
