He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilhelm Mitzel and Emilie Mitzel (Wiest); his wife Dordeen Mitzel; and his son Rinehart Mitzel Jr.. He is survived by: his daughter Debra Spencer (George); his granddaughters, Kathleen Spencer and Natalie Gogins (Loren); his great grandchild London Gogins; and his brother Alfred Mitzel (Jeanette).
