He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hilmes and Dorothy Hilmes; and his siblings, Johnetta Matter, Mildred Keller, Francis, Chester, Harold, Robert and Steven Hilmes.
He is survived by: his wife Donna; his children, Cynde Elrod of Ephrata, Sandy Jackson of Redmond and Kathy Watanabe (Gordy) of Fall City; his grandchildren, Jennifer Spigner of Kennewick, Michael Spigner of Renton and Brandon Jackson of Redmond; and his siblings, Mary Klitzke (Max) of Ellis, Loretta Ummel of Lindsay, Marvin L. Hilmes (Linda) of Othello and Ronald W. Hilmes (Janeth) of Troy, MT. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
